Procurement Department Ethics
Washington Savannah
River Company (WSRC) take its responsibility seriously to
maintain a fair, honest, and effective procurement system.
In order to do this, the bywords are to "guard the integrity"
of the system and the personnel involved. To that end WSRC
and Washington Corporation have published a policy stating
that its employees and their immediate families may neither
seek nor accept gifts or gratuities from Suppliers.
Throughout the year and particularly at the Holiday Seasons,
you are reminded that it is inappropriate for you or your
company to offer any gifts, meals, or any form of entertainment,
or other gratuity to any of our employees. They are in sensitive
positions and your adherence to this policy will assist them
and enhance the integrity of the system.
To:
WSRC Suppliers
As a valued component of our business equation, we feel it is
important that you, our supplier, be aware of the WSRC
business standards and policies that govern our relationship
with you.
WSRC believes in conducting its business affairs in
accordance with the highest legal and ethical standards. Not
only is it incumbent upon our employees to follow these policies,
your cooperation in respecting these standards is also critical.
We believe that this is mutually beneficial in that it helps
ensure that our business relationship is determined by the
quality of the products and services that you provide.
As part of our emphasis on these standards, WSRC employees
may not accept gifts or gratuities from suppliers (with the
exception of advertising novelties of a nominal value and
marked with the donor's company name.
If you would like to receive a copy of our Code of Business
Ethics and Conduct which more fully addresses this and other
policies, we would be happy to provide it.
