BritePrint™ Fingerprint Detection Device
This device is a small, lightweight, battery-powered, high intensity light source for onsite fingerprint detection.
The BritePrint system offers hands-free operation. The unit provides sufficient blue light intensity to compete with more expensive and cumbersome current devices.

Market Assessment
Estimated to be about $50 million
worldwide, the forensic supply market is relatively small. The primary targets for this invention are the 18,000 smaller law
enforcement agencies across the U.S. Affordability is a primary concern of these agencies. With appropriate pricing, industry experts estimate sales of 1,000 to 2,000 units per year over a six to ten year timeframe.

Patent Status
U.S. patent No. 6,865,285 has been issued on this invention.

Stage of Development
Eight prototype units have been built. Beta testing of the BritePrint devices has been conducted by law enforcement officials in South Carolina and Georgia with very favorable results.
