CentriDuti™ Unbalance
Detection System
The CentriDuti system is an improved control system for the detection
of imbalances in centrifuges carrying large payloads.The system can be incorporated
into new equipment or easily retrofitted into existing equipment.
Market Assessment
Large-payload centrifuges are used in the automotive, aerospace, and defense
industries. Imbalances in large payloads could cause centrifuge failure
with catastrophic results. Because of this safety factor, the use of this
invention
may result in insurance reductions.
Only a handful of companies
manufacture the type of centrifuge for which this invention is designed.
They are well-established medium to large companies. Numerous companies
service, refurbish, and resell centrifuges.
Patent Status
U.S. Patent No. 6,350,224 has
been issued on this technology.
Stage of Development
The CentriDuti system has been in operation at the Savannah River Site since
March 1998.
