Exhibit Criteria
Motivate students to be excited about some aspect of technology.
Encourage students to seek careers in science fields such as chemistry, biology, engineering, or physics.
Look professional. If you plan to have illustrations, text on poster boards, similar graphic information or photographic displays, contact SRS Documentation and Information Services, Building 703-43A. Scheduling early for illustration and photographic support is essential. However, before final assistance from either group is requested, "Release of Information (Procedure 1B, MRP 1.05)" approval must be obtained. Any costs incurred will be charged to your organization.
Be interactive. Consider having something that the audience can touch, or consider providing a demonstration to your audience (approximately 5 minutes). Experience has shown that interactive exhibits and demonstrations are of greatest interest.
Target the appropriate audience. The students viewing the exhibits are typically 11-14 years of age. Exhibitors should ensure that written and oral communication used in exhibits is easily understood by the audience. For example, do not use acronyms or terms known only to SRS employees. Graphs and charts should be simple to read and easy to understand. Most of all, there should be an element of excitement and FUN!
