Issuance of the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) and U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved Revision 0 Appendix E, Long-Term Projections for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 (Appendices E.1 and E.2 (Print Date: 10/24/2024, Updated 05/07/2025) and Appendix E.3 (Print Date: 10/24/2024, Updated 01/23/2025). The DOE submitted the Revision 0 Appendix E for FY2025 (Print Date: 10/24//2024) on November 13, 2024. The SCDES provided a comment on, and the EPA approved the Revision 0 appendix in their letters dated December 16, 2024, and January 13, 2025, respectively. The response to SCDES’ comment resulted in an editorial change to Appendix E.3; there were no changes to Appendices E.1 and E.2. Appendix E.3 was updated to re-add the Lower Three Runs Watershed with a footnote to explain that all milestones within the watershed have been met. The DOE submitted the updated Appendix E.3 on March 11, 2025. SCDES and EPA approved the updated Appendix E.3 on March 17, 2025, and April 2, 2025, respectively.
In their letter dated January 16, 2025 (RDDD-25-116), DOE recommended that the R-Area Reactor Seepage Basins (RRSB)/108-4R Overflow Basin Operable Unit (OU) and R-Area Groundwater OU groundwater reports be combined into one report, with a letter report due in August 2026 and a full report due in August 2028, with subsequent reporting alternating between letter and full reports every 2 years until such time a new reporting schedule is determined. The EPA and SCDES approved the request in their letters dated February 13, 2025, and February 14, 2025, respectively. This resulted in a change in the deliverables listed in Appendices E.1 and E.2.
